I tried to access the newsgroups last night on Roadrunner
but discovered they no longer offer this service. I've been
with Roadrunner for years and several of the newsgroups whose
subject was of interest to me had been daily reading.
For a while, at least a year, I haven't been on the computer
much and attempting last night to get to the newsgroups couldn't
do it. Roadrunner national said it was a local issue so I called
whoever you get when you call from Kona only to have a strident
woman tell me it was not my right as a subscriber to have access
to newsgroups, that Roadrunner had thrown that part of their
contract with me out the window due to 'lack of interest', I asked
why this cutback in services was not showing on my monthly bill
as a decrease in what they charge me. No satisfactory answer.
Can anyone fill me in on this situation? When did Roadrunner drop
newsgroup access and did they announce it beforehand? I don't remember
getting a notification from them. Is this local, just Hawaii, or national?
I'd sure like someone who about this to illuminate me. Thanks, Ray
