Yes, of course, and I must download and install the latest Microsoft
security patch as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, no rush, since I get a chance to do it at least fifty
times a day.

Does it look like THIS?

From: "Microsoft" <***@microsoft.com>
Subject: Use this patch immediately !

Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now!
There are dangerous virus in the Internet now!
More than 500.000 already infected!

'Cause if so, that's 'Dumaru', and not something else we were discussing
recently.

ATTENTION COMPUTER USERS
Hi, John. Um... this is a group about Internet _providers_. Most people
here are _less_ computer-illiterate than you are -- a fair number of us
are past or present employees of ISP's, tech support, sysadmins and those
sorts of things -- and thus don't fall into the market segment you're
trying to reach (computer-illiterate people who are easily scared by
people shouting "theatre!" in a crowded fire with excessive punctuation
and a stuck "caps lock" key).

You might want to try hawaii.ads.forsale, instead.

1.. DOWNLOADING SECURITY UPDATES
The day they're released. Thankfully they're not too frequent, since I
don't use Windows.

2.. INSTALL ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE
Why? There are no viruses for my OS. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

3.. INSTALL A THIRD PARTY FIREWALL PROGRAM
I think my OS came with all the ports disabled by default... ;)

I have a better suggestion: Get rid of Windows. Seen this poll result?

Best,

Sure looks that way from here on your SHINY NEW box, yes-sir!

Starting nmap 3.48 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2003-10-16 15:06 HST
Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -P0
Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (0 hosts up) scanned in 12.151 seconds
