Dialout Trouble on Maui?

I gather that there is a problem with dialing out from Maui.
Anyone have more details?

Anyone have more details?

Define "dialing out." Are you talking about making a call from Maui to
some other island, or to "dialing out" as the opposite of "dialing in,"
where one connects to a networked system and uses a modem to call one
that isn't on the same network?

(Lest you think nobody does that any more, when an office I support has
trouble with their custom app that runs on a machine with no NIC, their
VAR (who cannot get a decent connection to their server's modem from
6400km away) calls me, I fire up VNC server on my iBook, plug in the
phone line; the VAR VNC's in and dials out to their server's modem.)
